Schola Cantorum, founded in 1964 by the late Royal Stanton, is one of the largest and most successful choral groups in the San Francisco Bay Area, with 135 singers representative of communities throughout the area. Under the baton of Music Director Gregory Wait, Schola Cantorum continues to present dynamic performances of masterpieces from the choral repertoire, new works by major composers and music from diverse musical traditions. Schola Cantorum continues its commitment to choral education and participation through its very successful Messiah Sings, Summer Sings, and Musicianship for Singers programs.
